Written by on 20/06/2015

Another great Dunoon Saturday with so much going on, doubtful if every one could take full advantage and it was all Free.

Congratulations to all the organisers you all know who you are the whole community from events like these.

We here at Dunoon Community Radio had our DCR Executive Producer Hamish on one of his “meet the listeners Days” out and about at today’s events with DCR DJ Stereo Simon.

Sandbank’s annual community event had something for everyone and for the youngsters a really good selection of inflatables, funfair rides, Bodyzorb Balls, and Face painting all seemed to be busy.

There was also a Junior Dog Show and new for this year Dog Agility! For other animal lovers there was  Mountain Rescue Dogs, Hoots Owls and Shetland Ponies
Main Raffle prize for this year was a HIGHLAND COO  carving from Andy Mac at Chainsaw Craft.
Food and drink stalls include Winston Churchill’s venison burgers, hot dogs & filled rolls from The Pit Stop plus sandwiches/snacks and sweets, Candyfloss, ice cream, home baking also available.

There was music from Acoustic Soundz and volunteers from the audience did solo spots

Heron Valley took time out from their increasing heavy schedule making an awesome reputation  for themselves.

Displays from Joanne McGeachie School of Dance and Dunoon Baton Twirlers and with dozens of interesting Stalls with something for everyone and plenty of prizes and bargains to be had.
The annual Tug O’ War competition for Adults with  £100 and a trophy and a  Junior Team getting  £50 and a trophy.
Emergency service vehicles were very popular as they usually are with Police, Fire and Mountain Rescue.

DCR Executive Producer Hamish visited the Burgh Hall Pop Up Craft Shop at bottom of Argyll Street which is gradually filling up with lovely wares of all descriptions.                     Old DCR friend Colm Docherty  was welcoming any visitors on this the very first open afternoon. Colm being Colm was busy making look alike guitars from cardboard (no we thought we should not ask) What does a talented artist do when they have time on their hands? Make copy like classic guitars from cardboard of course! Didn’t realise there was so much space and light this is going to be a very, very busy place.

The bunting outside Book Point again at the bottom of Argyll Street welcomes visitors at the start of Book Week-with fantastic book offers and all manner of events happening over the next week DCR Executive Producer Hamish called in to check if h old friend Wally  would be making an appearance and yes he will be in the shop next Saturday 27th June
