We were so proud in the little we did in helping in promoting and broadcasting Folk For The Clutha organised by our colleagues at Celtic Music Radio and raising a staggering £3,455. When we grow up we want to be able to do things like that, just like our Big Brother Radio Station.

We got very excited as Fiona McNeill DCR presenter and member of top Scottish Celtic Fusion Band Reely Jiggered played their way through the eliminating rounds against 300 other Bands then competing in and winning the Final at the O2 ABC in Glasgow.

We are just about, again with Celtic Music Radio to start broadcasting live for the fourth year from Celtic Connections from the CMR studio in Adelaides in Glasgow.  DCR presenters shall alongside CMR presenters keep listeners informed with the who’s, what’s and where’s of what is happening from one of the world’s biggest and most prestigious Celtic events.

As in the past we are hoping to chat to many of the interesting folk who will be visiting Glasgow and CMR will be recording many of the events for broadcast.

We shall be seeking out old friends of DCR who will be playing in events including members of Manran’, Skerryvore, Skipinnish ,Fergie and CMR presenters Lorne MacDougall and Paddy Callaghan who will be performing in their own right during Celtic Connections.

Getting back to the start of 2014 anxiously awaiting the result of having being  nomination as Best Radio Presenter DJ Rupert  and Best Community Radio Station in the DIA (dancehall Industry Awards).

No awards this time but a really big thank you to everyone across the world who voted for Rupert and DCR.

We are very proud of our presenters here at Dunoon Community Radio who work so hard to promote DCR presenting their own brand of entertainment to the local community as well as, as with DJ Rupert to a much wider world wide audience on the internet

We may not have won anything this time but as presenters like DJ Rupert lift the bar as an inspiration to other presenters and you the listener keep listening and give us your comments and feedback, the public profile of DCR will increase to gather the much sought after support from local commerce and retail business who through sponsorship and advertising will help pay the bills.
