CLYDE WELCOMES YOU TO GLASGOW GREEN

You may have heard that from now until the 3rd August the biggest sporting event in the world right now is taking place in Glasgow.

To make sure you know exactly what is happening with up to the minute updates the biggest and best media companies from around the world are here in Glasgow.

We acknowledge are colleagues in the world of broadcasting have so far done a sterling job in the run up to the games keeping us all informed right from the very start on the 9th October 2013 when the Queens Baton Relay began its 190,000 km journey over 288 days  before opening the games last night

Over 288 days the baton  visit 70 nations and territories, it’s 190,000 kilometres  involve a third of the world’s population, making it the world’s most engaging relay.

On Sunday 13th July over 3500 folk gathered at Dunoon Stadium to welcome in bright sunshine the arrival of the Queens Baton which had arrived in Appin in the early hours to start it’s journey through Argyll to be greeted by hundreds on route travelling through  Benderloch, Dunbeg,Oban, Kilmartin, Dunadd, Lochgilhead, Furnace, Inveraray, Strachur, Sandbank Hunters Quay, Kirn, Castle Gardens to eventualy Dunoon Stadium.

Now the Games have begun we thought we will leave the actual sporting events to the expert broadcasters and we will keep you up to date to what other entertainment will be available in and around Glasgow much of it free  and all designed to give as much entertainment to all members of the family.
