Danny Kyle finalist The Granny Green trio where performing on the steps of The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall today to help launch the Celtic Connections Festival 2016. As the 2015 festivals draw to an end there is hardly time to take a breath and it all starts again exciting times lay ahead

Danny Kyle was a passionate supporter of traditional music and a constant campaigner for its revival in Scotland. Each night on the Open Stage, new musical talent is given the chance to shine under the Celtic Connections spotlight and the six best acts win through to the final night showcase concert. With a support slot at next year’s festival up for grabs, it’s a hard fought competition.

Compered by Danny’s close friend Liz Clark, it has been the launch pad for many now familiar names such as Adam Sutherland, Karine Polwart and The Chair.

DANNY CONCERT
On Saturday 15th January 2016  at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall the six finalists from the 2015 event will perform: Granny Green. Sheila McKay Jones, Talisk, Pons Aelius,  Gnoss and Four Winds and Celtic Music Radio will be there broadcasting the whole event and Dunoon Community Radio will be there with them
