EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA

Several Hundred Families visited the 2016 Easter Extravaganza the yearly event held at the Ardentinny Picnic site to enjoy activities for all members of the family to celebrate the coming of spring at this popular family fun day out.
As usual the Forestry Commission Scotland was hosting the annual event which is over ten years in the making with all the favourite activities like the famous “must take part” Bunny Hunt where children and a few big people with the aid of a map track down the bunnies all hiding of course.
FCS Man Stephen Gillen was out and about with his team of forest rangers helping the Bunnies do there best to hide .
One Bunny that was very hard to hide was the famous White Rabbit who invited children to take a magical adventure searching for Alice –no,no, not the Alice that used to live next door from the song but Alice in the blue dress, on the adventure there was the opportunity for children to play some of the forest characters and to even meet the famous Mad Hatter.
The Egg Decorating competition always a favourite was here again with many children decorating eggs,
and from last year instead of having a Easter Bonnet competition and instead of looking at heads the judges will be looking at Feet and giving away spot prizes for the most outrageous foot wear, from Funky Wellies, Dazzling Trainers to X Factor Boots, with members of all the family joining in and winning fabulous prizes.
Something new this year was the bubble measuring competition (if you could catch them)
Winston Churchill legendary Venison Burgers where on sale just before they embark on a full on season tempting the crowds at nearly all of Scotland’s most prestigious food and music festivals
and to help keep everyone informed as to what was happening DCR97.4FM presenters Stereo Simon and Kate from Gaultys Answers to everything radio programme where there strutting their stuff.
With so much going on Dunoon Community Radio will be in attendance to keep you informed as to how, were and when and playing music request.
