A VERY MEMORABLE FIRST FOR SANDBANK PRIMARY SCHOOL’S CHRISTMAS FAIR
Sandbank Primary School’s Christmas Fair certainly brought in the crowds for this the very first Christmas Fair
from 4.pm to 7.pm it seemed at times that the whole of Cowal had decided to pay the school a visit with so much to see and do and buy including for the very first time Santa’s Grotto at Sandbank Primary with a Golden ticket for a special gift up for grabs there were scenes reminisce to Willy Wonka as children and one or two bigger people cued to say hello to the Man in Red. The Tombola and Raffle were so popular a visit to town to buy more raffle tickets was required. School Pupils took to running fund raising stalls in the small Hall organising Cupcake Decorating and other colourful activities .
Back in the main Hall more activities for the youngsters with Face Painting and Glitter Tattoos alongside stalls overflowing with Christmas Crafts and Gifts.
Visitors to the fair were giving the opportunity to buy many original items from a range so diverse to include ceramics and pottery, Handmade jewellery with gem stones, Peruvian Jewellery, Candles from the Dunoon Grammar School. handmade wooden toys from a time of make believe that kept many of the school pupils mesmerized also from the world of wood Jackie Shack and the famous Chain Saw Crafts with wooden items from pocket size carving to well the size of the tree is the limit and there just doesn’t seem to be a limit with so much from the quilting folk including many Christmas items, there was knit ware and colourful Ruffle scarves and Sandra Webster from Bute with handmade cushions from material woven in Bute. .
With Hot Food with Mulled Wine and Mince Pies plus The Great Christmas Cake Decorating Contest then The Sandbank Primary School’s Christmas Carollers and of course entertainment from DCR97.4FM Presenters – a very memorable First –let’s hope the first of many.
