Today’s the day when what looks like to be Dunoon’s busiest week  all kicks off when at 1.00pm today the fringe celebrations start to the build-up of Dunoons most prestigious event the Cowal Highland Gathering.

This year the mighty organisation  of Cowal Highland Gathering is helped along  in promoting Cowal by the newly formed group  Dizzy Dayz in Dunoon and PA23BIDS both dedicated to promoting Dunoon and Cowal and of course the legendry Kirn Gala .

Dizzy Days in Dunoon have a very well publicised programme of events starting off today at Dunoon’s Argyll Gardens with entertainment from the Dunoon Community Radio Revue team amongst others and continuing daily till Sunday with events in and around Dunoon .

PA23BIDS bring back to Dunoon the legendry Sunset Ceremony enlisting the organisational skills of professional broadcaster and  DCR97.4FM Celebrity presenter Derek McIntyre who has put together a very stylish programme of entertainment and to ensure every one can see and hears the event a very large stage indeed will be built with a  superb sound system

Included in the line up of entertainment will be  internationally known Scottish Ceilidh bands, a vocalist billed as Scotland’s newest singing sensation, local performers and dancer’s,  a  Scottish Singer billed as one of the few authentic Traditional singers  performing today and as a very special treat a guest appearance of one of the most sought after personalities of the moment Scotlands own  sporting hero of the commonwealth Games, The Men’s Lightweight Gold Medal winner Charlie Flynn will visit Dunoon to take part in this years Sunset Ceremony. Even at this time additions to the line up are being added  and running order may not be decided till just before the event but as announced on Dunoon Community Radio you can expect to see at this time
