CHILDREN FROM DUNOON YOUTH STUFF (SCOTLAND) TO BE STREAMED LIVE IN NEW SHOW BY AWARD -WINNING ARTIST
Written by Archie Fergusson on 15/09/2016
As the Crow Flies was created by Greg Sinclair, working with over 100 young people aged 7 to 25, based in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dunoon, Isle of Coll and Ghent (Belgium). It is the culmination of a project exploring music and performance through the use of instruction and graphic scores.
The show celebrates human connections and investigates how young people of different ages and in different social and geographical locations respond to the same materials.
Greg Sinclair said:
“It’s been wonderful to collaborate with these young people. I was inspired by their creativity and wanted to make sure their ideas and interests would stay at the heart of the work. I was also hoping to expand my understanding of live music performance by combining elements of live art, theatre, digital technology and visual arts.”
Two groups of young people (four 9-13 year olds from Dunoon and four 17 year olds from Ghent in Belgium) will be livestreamed on stage, interacting with the show and each other in a beautiful and humorous display.
The performances will also be streamed at livescoreproject.com for Scottish and international audiences who are unable to attend.
The performance is the culmination of Imaginate’s livescore project – a year-long project funded by Creative Scotland’s Time To Shine fund. With project partners: #artcore, Lyceum Youth Theatre, Argyll Youth Arts, Kopergietery (BE), After the News
