There is nothing better that DCR Presenter Dave de Kort enjoys than walking through the beautiful countryside we are blessed with that surrounds Dunoon here in Cowal. Leisurely walking is what presenter Dave calls it and as many of Dave’s listeners will have heard him say many times in his weekly Monday programme  “I don’t do exciting”.

Looking forward to his forthcoming DCR role as Anchor man for DCR’S presentations of Cowalfest 2013 Dave decided to leave his comfort zone of walking in Cowal and take on the mighty West Highland Way (well, part of it). along with walking friend Ken. Dave and Ken walked from Milngavie near Glasgow to Fort William a grand total of 96 miles. A movie of the walk has been posted on “youtube” for all to see and enjoy with fabulous scenic views ,wildlife and eco- friendly accommodation.

Dave would like to take this opportunity to thank all the folk who sponsored him on the West Highland Walk thanks to their generosity he raised £175 for the much depleted coffers of Dunoon Community Radio. You can hear Dave chat about his West Highland Walk adventure when he visits Victor on  TLLLVLBS Monday 6th May 6.00pm

With his passion for leisurely walking and his interest in the Cowal country side Dave is the ideal man to present DCR’S coverage of the forthcoming Cowalfest 2013 to be held in October. This annual Walking and Arts Festival is one of the largest and most varied walking festivals in Briton, with nearly a hundred walks led by knowledgeable walk leaders including National Park and Forestry Commission Rangers. Up to the run up of the Festival Dave shall be keeping you informed of the progress and introducing listeners to many of the folk involved,  during Cowalfest Dave will be the anchor man presenting programmes that will keep you up to date with all the latest news and updates.                      HAVE YOU VISITED THE COWALFEST  WEBSITE .
