DR PHILS CELTIC CONNECTIONS –SOUNDS OF THE SOUTH EDITION
THE CELTIC CONNECTIONS ESSENTIAL DANCE SESSION SPECIAL EDITION with DJDAVIE
Both veteran broadcasters here on Dunoon Community Radio presenters DR Phil and DJ Davie will this week present a special edition of their programmes to acknowledge and celebrate Celtic Connections 2013 .
Special Editions have been featured by both presenters in the past when they have taken the main theme of their programmes and extended the theme into a genre not usually associated with their programme.
Dr Phil during the Royal National Mod presented programmes which proved association between blues music of the Deep South and traditional Gaelic music of the Western Isles of long ago.
He also presented a lively debate amongst traditional Gaelic Singers including our own Gaelic Presenter Frlly of the association of Gaelic work songs, particularly those sung by woman when waulking the tweed.
You can hear Dr Phil’s Programme on Tuesday evening 29th January at 8.00pm
DJ Davie’s occasional buffet nights have covered many “strange “ associations with his essential dance music and are in constant demand by his listeners . DJ Davie is keeping tight lipped to the contents of this weeks CELTIC CONNECTIONS ESSENTIAL DANCE SESSION but as DJ Davie says “It only works if there is a genuine association”
DJ Davie will be presenting his Programme Thursday evening 31st January at 7.30pm
