Written by Archie Fergusson on 13/10/2014
DCR’S Mary and Elma have been working hard today as Chairpersons for some of the childrens competition, such a pity that we have no children entered from Dunoon in the Inverness Mòd, todays competitions where for learners.
Lawrence is here with his MacBraynes bus and DCR favourite Joy Dunlop and her brother Andrew Dunlop have both been Adjudicating under the watchful eye of Parents Sandy and Moira stalwarts of the Mod and all send their best wishes to all DCR listeners and Mòd supporters .
Sandy and Moira where adjudicating at The Susan Paterson Caledonian MacBrayne Trophy which was won by Coisir Bun-sgol Port Ilein, unfortunately the only entrant but sang two lovely two part harmonys and gained very high marks,
Susan Paterson was the marketing manager for Calmac who died in 2012 and possibly worked at the Gurock Calmac office.
The Traditional Calmac concert held tonight features Jenna Cumming and another DCR favourite Barluath who’s lead singer Ainsly Hamil (she of the silver hotpants) who made such a good impression when she sang for Victor and Frlly live on air during the last Dunoon Mòd. Ainsley is competing in the Gold Medal this year
after winning the Silver Pendant last year, We send her our best wishes.
