DCR97.4FM REVUE CELEBRATE IST PUBLIC APPEARANCE AT ARDENLEE OPEN DAY
Written by Archie Fergusson on 13/09/2014
Yes listeners the very first public performance that the DCR Revue made was their appearance performing at Dunoons Ardenlee Care Home on Dunoons Bullwood Road.
Brought together when asked by the Ardenlee Care Home if DCR would like to help entertain residents and visitors at an Open Day DCR volunteers were asked if anyone could contribute a little more than what they usually did on “air” and invited to join a “Revue”
After a very successful afternoons entertainment when DCR volunteers Gary DJ Marshall ,Claremarie Nolan, Dr Phil, Frlly, Simon and Victor all led by musical Director Dave de Kort had so much fun it was decided its members would continue to entertain to help raise funds for DCR and to also perform for folk in elderly residence and in care homes and would help other local charities to raise funds.
Since that very first appearance the DCR Revue has gone from strength to strength with other volunteers offering their talents such as presenter Kerry and her Eastern Dance alto- ego Nefititi and her fellow presenter from a Tuesday evening Top Scottish Psychic Carol Stirling who have both contributed to the Revue. Presenter Tony Collins known throughout the land as The Tartan Cowboy or even Tonto MacGregor has entertained as part of the revue and just recently as part of Dunoons Sunset Ceremony Matt Ramsay Scotland’s latest singing sensation amazed the 1000 plus audience as part of the DCR97.4fm Revue opening act.
From seeing in the New Year events to Wedding Anniversaries and Birthday parties to performing at local Charity events and Galas the DCR97.4fm Revue is keeping very busy and this Sunday see’s it back to where it all started The Ardenlee Care Home Open Day.
Everyone is welcome and the DCR97.4fm volunteers would like you to come say hello and join in a good old singsong .
