DUNOON’S BIG DAZZLE
Christmas starts officially in Dunoon in a day of festive fun when the town Christmas lights switch on at 5pm shall be the climax of a fun filled day for all the family. The day starts at midday with a live reindeer parade from Argyll Gardens to the Burgh Hall where Santa shall be in residence for the rest of the day! Bring all the family along for a memorable day with so much more to enjoy, including fun Santa dash for kids at 2.30 and adults at 3pm, Xmas Stalls on Argyll Street, special Fairground rides around the town, Face painting, Vintage fire engines and much, much more.
Here are the Highlights and approximate times
11.00Argyll Gardens -Music & Entertainment Introduced by MC Alex Pollock who will be joined by DCR97.4fm Presenter Victor and DCR97.4 Presenters and Performers who will entertain you during the event and keep you up-to-date to what is happening.
Look out for Claremarie ,Gary DJ Marshall ,Frlly,Dr Phil, Margaret, Sarah and Trish who shall also introduce you to Santa’s Reindeer who will be chilling in their show pen outside Skills Scotland office so you may say hello and take photos .
12.00 Santa arrives and Reindeers lead Santa’s sleigh up Argyll Street followed by Dunoon Grammar School Pipe Band
12.20 ish Main Stage Burgh Hall Santa arrives at Burgh Hall
12.45 ish After the Reindeer have had a wee drink and a rest they will then return back down Argyll Street to their Pen Outside Skills Scotland
12.30 ish Main Stage Burgh Hall –Tina Cairns Dancers will showcase the first of two specially choreographed dancers the second later at 4.00pm Argyll Gardens
2.00 pm Main Stage Burgh Hall Joanne Loughlin’s Little Xmas Angels performing Susy Snowflake dance routine.
2.30 pm Main Stage Burgh Hall– Kids Santa Dash leaves Burgh Hall to Argyll Gardens registration from 1.30pm onwards in Burgh Hall – free to enter, medals for all .
2.40 pm Argyll Gardens –Kids Santa Dash Finish
2.35 pm Main Stage Burgh Hall LIVE Medicinal Brew (Dr Bill Wilkie and Mike Burke)
3.00 pm Argyll Gardens –Adults Santa Dash to Kirn and back, starts from start and finish gantry at Argyll Gardens then along the promenade pavement An outrider shall cycle ahead of the competitors on the entire route sounding a horn to warn oncoming walkers of runners / Santa’s appearing
3.15 pm Argyll Gardens –First runners start arriving back to the line at the entrance to the muster car park. Medals to be issued to all competitors.
3.30 pm Main Stage Burgh Hall –Gordon Blair and kids Fiddle Frenzy
4.00pm Argyll Gardens –Tina Cairns dancers with a specially choreographed Christmas theme climax for their second performance for the very first Dunoon Dazzels
4.30pm Argyll Gardens –The Presentation of the Dazzling Umbrellas followed by the Umbrella parade up Argyll Street to the Burgh Hall.
4.45pm Main Stage Burgh Hall –Umbrella Parade arrives
4.55pm Main Stage Burgh Hall Presentation of the first ever “Dunoon Dazzles Community Champion “ Trophy
5.00pm Main Stage Burgh Hall -Count down and lights Switch on
