EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA—IT MUST BE SPRING
Written by Archie Fergusson on 05/04/2015
As the posters go up advertising the 2015 Easter Eggstravaganza it is a sure sign that Spring is on its way. Once again Ardentinny Picnic site will be the place to celebrate the coming of spring with this popular family fun day out.
As usual the Forestry Commission Scotland will be hosting this annual event which is over ten years in the making with all the favourite activities like the famous “must take part” Bunny Hunt and the Walking Theatre Company’s annual treat that all members of the family can take part in.
FCS Man Stephen Gillen tells us this year besides all the old favourites there are many new attractions as they try each year to better the previous year. The Egg Decorating competition always a favourite returns but this year but instead of having a Easter Bonnet competition there is something different for 2015,
instead of looking at heads the judges will be looking at Feet and giving away spot prizes for the most outrageous foot wear, from Funky Wellies, Dazzling Trainers to X Factor Boots, all the family can join in and possibly win a fabulous prize
Another new attraction for 2015 will be the Boys and Girls from the fabulous Argyll Voyageur Canoes who will be running trips on Loch Long
The Walking Theatre Company will hold the premier of their latest blockbuster production with Robbin’ Hoodie and an opportunity for every one to become extras and cast members as our hero sets out to rescue the fair Maid Marion from the Evil Sheriff .
With so much going on Dunoon Community Radio will be in attendance to keep you informed as to how, were and when and playing music request. The Glenfinart Walled Garden Team the Mudskippers will have the garden open and be only to pleased to inform you of this years plans for the Garden and of course there will be home baking and tea .
If it is something a little more substantial there is always a Burger from Winston Churchill Venison
