GRAHAM OBREE “THE FLYING SCOTSMAN” WINS COWAL CYCLE RACE

Scottish Cycling Legend  ‘The Flying Scotsman’, Graham Obree originaly  invited to present the medals and promote the event then entered the event came out top and was surprised to hear he was to award the first place medal to ……himself .

As he explained in an earlier DCR 97.4fm interview with compare of the event Derek McIntye he originally thought it was  to promote the cycling event and to give out the medals but on seeing the route and the spectacular scenery he quickly changed his mind and quickly registered to take part. Always keen to promote Cycling and to  prove to Mums and Dads that cycling did not have to be an expensive pastime for youngsters the bike he cycled in to Dunoon on Friday night and competed on was a bicycle build from refurbished discarded  parts from many bikes.
