INTERNATIONAL RECORDING ARTIST SINGS FOR DCR’S ARCHIE

Lenya Wilks International singing sensation has recorded a special version of her Number One Jamaican Hit.

As a thank you for ensuring that her recent interviews with Empress Skortcher and the streaming between programmes to and from our sister station Global Linkz Radio and Dunoon Community Radio run smoothly, she has sent him this song.

Archie a well-known face in Duoon known as the photograph from the Dunoon Observer and a member of local band Dr Hip and the Blues Operation takes care of the technical side of DCR97.4fm which like the Iceberg–there is a lot more to it than what you hear coming out of the speakers.

Lenya Wilks musical journey started at age 6 with her wishing to sing like the Late Whitney Houston. She would pursue her goal starting with school choirs and eventually competing in Jamaica Digicel Rising Stars completion in 2007. Her exit from the competition brought with it bitter sweet memories for Lenya.

Placing 4th place had its advantage as she went on to tour extensively and opened for reggae and R& B crooner Beres Hammond from 2007-2010. From that experience, Lenya Wilks has emerged as a shining global rising star.

Her latest accomplishment is the release of her 15 tracked self titled debut album which has been featured as  CD of the week here on DCR97.4fm.. Filled with melodies, harmonies, and catchy lyrics, there is undoubtedly a song of two on the album for music lovers across reggae, r&b, alternative, and pop genres.
