Joy Dunlop is a Gaelic singer and step-dancer dancer based in Glasgow,
Scotland. Originally from the West Highlands, her performances showcase
Gaelic music and song in a contemporary style that remains true to its
roots. A seasoned performer, Joy has appeared throughout the UK,
Europe, Canada, New Zealand and the USA and has performed everywhere
from Highland village hall ceilidhs to major international festivals
such as Celtic Connections and Celtic Colours.
A fluent Gaelic speaker, Joy has also presented shows on BBC ALBA and
makes frequent appearances on BBC Radio nan Gàidheal. As an honours
graduate of Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, the world’s only Gaelic immersion
college, Joy is passionate about promoting Gaelic language and culture.
She currently teaches a wide variety of classes throughout Scotland,
and is an active member of several Gaelic song ensembles in addition to
her solo projects
