LOCAL ROCK BAND TO SUPPORT ROCK DJ LEGEND AT DUNOON BOOK FESTIVAL –TOM RUSSELL IN CONVERSATION WITH STACY WATERS FOLLOWED BY A SHORT LIVE SET BY DUNOON ROCK BAND VEMODALEN –

Dunoon Community Radio Favourites Vemodalen have been invited to play a short set @ Dunoon’s Book Festival hosted by Dunoon Presents on Saturday 29th October after the 7.00pm appearance of Tom Russell

Legendary rock DJ, Tom Russell, gives us a behind the scenes look at his life in rock and radio. He uncovered some of the great rock bands to come out of Scotland and has interviewed and spent time with some of the absolute legends: Robert Plant, Ozzy, ACDC, Genesis, Judas Priest, ZZ Top, Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Rush, Motley Crue, Journey, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Alice Cooper, Black Stone Cherry, Alterbridge and many many more.

The Godfather of Rock is a fantastic read and great insight into the emergence of rock through the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Tom is still immersed in the business and remains a major influence right up to the present day.

It is a fantastic honour for Dunoon and a great achievement for the orgainisers of the 2nd Dunoon Book Festival to have Tom make his first “Author” appearance after his very successful book launch at Glasgow’s Hard Rock Cafe this week as he also celebrates the news of the Ofcom announcement that his beloved Rock Radio has been awarded the FM commercial radio licence for the west central Scotland area –Congratulation to all involved . ·
