PLEASE LET US INTRODUCE YOU TO PAT HAYES AND HER GRANDSON THOMAS
Written by Archie Fergusson on 20/07/2016
Hi,
My name is Pat Hayes and I am part of a worldwide campaign to get public buildings and landmarks to light up Gold on September 1st, in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
My family lives in Dunoon, my grandson Thomas Reynolds was diagnosed with cancer aged 4, in 2010.
I have been working with Dunoon Community Council to organise an event on September 1st which will involve several locations in and around the town being lit up, including Castle House Museum, The War Memorial, Highland Mary, The Royal Marine Hotel, and others to be confirmed.
My grandson will be ‘guest of Honour’, switching the lights on. There will be a lone piper, and the Dunoon Observer will be there to record the event.
I would like to ask if you would get behind the campaign and give it some airtime.
Perhaps mentioning it on a regular basis leading up to September?
The Community Council are totally behind the Campaign, as it shows Dunoon in a very favourable light and is good publicity for the town.
I hope you will support us in this, and show Thomas that his home town is behind him and all the children that are fighting this awful disease. I have added the link to our campaign page for you to look at.
Kind regards,
Pat Hayes
