SKIPINNISH CEILILDH HOUSE LOOKING FOR MUSICIANS FROM DCR LISTENERS

Written by on 04/02/2012

Great fun bumping in to the Gaelic singer Rachel Walker outside the Exibition Hall from where we were broadcasting.

Rachel, member of the new up and coming acclaimed Gaelic group Cruinn some times vocalist with Skipinnish and organiser of the Skipinnish Ceilidh House in Oban which I am sure you are aware has now been joined by a new Ceilidh House in Fort William told us she was here at Celtic Connections not only getting ready for the sell out Skipinnish Concert  at The Concert Hall but was also on the lookout for talented musicians and Gaelic singers to work at both Celilidh Houses to take part in the “Skipinnish Ceilidh Show” production  for the summer season. Rachel is looking for six Instrumentalist and Two Singers.

As we were broadcasting from the Exhibition hall at that moment we craftily manoeuvred  Rachel to the sound desk which, well known to DCR listeners Adele Goodfellow was broadcasting from for a tell all interview with Adele with Rachel bringing us up to date with the world of Skipinnish and how she was recruiting musicians for the Ceilidh Houses.

After the interview Rachel said she would be delighted to consider DCR listeners as instrumentalist or singers.

If you missed any of the details and are a confident musician who can play your first instrument to a very high standard and have the ability to read music and follow chord charts or if a Singer able to sing in both English and Gaelic and able to present yourself well and introduce songs confidently from the stage, here they are again:

Open Auditions are to be held in Glasgow at Berkely 2 Studios Wednesday 22nd February 3pm till 9.00pm.

Take along your CV, and of course your instrument and drop in for a tune and a chat, you never know this summer you may be performing in front of thousands of visitors from all over the world in one of the worlds top Scottish entertainment venues.

For any further information why not contact Rachel : Rachel@skipinnish.com or telephone her 0776 688 1497

We shall catch up with Rachel again in October when she visits Dunoon for the Mod 2012 hopefully competing , you never know she may visit and sing for us in the DCR Mod 2012 Studio -now that would be something to look forward to.
