Dunoon Community Radio’s Trish has been included in the nominees for the Radio Show Of The Year category in the prestigious 2012 SCOTTISH NEW MUSIC AWARDS.
Her Programme WHATEVER ROCKS YOUR BOAT– has been broadcast on a Friday night since April 2011 and has become in that time one of the few early evening “Cult” Rock programmes on Radio.
Specialising in New Scottish Music with exclusive interviews and first time plays –New Bands and Old Favourites –New Music and Classic Tunes there is always something to Rock the Boat on a Friday night with Trish.
Featuring New and Unsigned Bands mainly from Scotland but including the rest of the UK and from around the world. WHATEVER ROCKS YOUR BOAT has featured bands and Artist from Glenrothes’ to Latvia from Sweden to London not forgetting the many from Glasgow, besides featuring many Bands the new and unsigned slot has featured many solo Artist including many world premieres who can forget the charismatic Californian Rocker ELLIOT SCHNEIDER.
Recently WHATEVER ROCKS YOUR BOAT has been involved in a local incentive to bring unsigned bands to Dunoon with……………………………..
pre gig interviews and tunes live from the Dunoon Community Radio Argyll Street Studios. TURN FOR THE STRANGE held recently at the local “Brewery” featured Scottish unsigned band from Edinburgh THE MERRYLEES and HOLY PISTOL CLUB.
With thirty three categories every aspect of Scottish New Music is covered the purpose of the Scottish New Music Awards is to present a professional event to honour the music made in Scotland and recognise the artist and the industry that make it happen
