Now in its 10th year Cowalfest is Scotland’s longest and largest walking and arts festival, a celebration of this undiscovered, beautiful and vibrant part of Argyll.

Cowalfest 2012 takes place from Friday 5th October until Sunday 14th October. The festival offers a wide range of walks offering everything for all ages: all levels of fitness and interests whether you’re a hardy hill walker, a heritage buff, a family group, a wildlife fan or someone who likes to be busy and learn new skills, if you are visiting Argyll  on holiday – you will find a wealth of walks and events to fill your days and evenings during Cowalfest.

For those who would enjoy a little less activity you can simply relax and enjoy the welcome in one of Cowal’s many historic inns, visit the many artists’ galleries and studios or even learn the skills of bread making with Argyll’s most famous chefs in an Edwardian kitchen , or you can simply be awed by the stunning scenery with miles of breathtaking coastline.

If on holiday the festival can complete the whole holiday experience with opportunities for drama workshops for children, horse riding, orienteering, exhibitions, art, theatre and concerts, all set within the dramatic and historic landscape of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Forest Park.
