JAMAICAN SINGING LEGEND INTERVIEW-DOBBY DOBSON
Dobby was awarded The Order of Distinction On 6 August 2011, being the 49th anniversary of the country’s independence, the Governor-General of Jamaica conferred the Order of Distinction in the rank of Officer (OD) upon Dobson, for his contribution to reggae music and representation of Jamaican culture.
He has been performing and recording for more years than he cares to remember but has never allowed quality to fall by the wayside.
Track after track of quality sound, quality lyrics and quality music makes Dobby one of the greats in the Reggae music industry today. He has released a teaser single ‘Poor Man’s Prayer’ from his long awaited album ‘Desperation’ which has been played here on Dunoon Community Radio with a good response and not just from Rupert’s Reggae fans. The new album is now being finalised and due for release next month with a re-record of his smash hit single ‘Loving Pauper’ and other tasty musical treats for his fans.
Rupert’s fellow dj Dj Raven of Manchester Radio “Reggae Airways” has recently had the pleasure of interviewing Dobby and we were so impressed on listening to her interview we asked if she would allow our listeners the same opportunity. We shall broadcast this interview over three days starting at 11.00am Monday 8th October through to Wednesday 10th October, tune in to hear this artist chat about how he started and kept going all these years!
Rupert will present a very special Reggae programme with classic and new artist immediately after the final part of the interview on Wednesday at midday.
