DUNOON HAS AN ANGEL TREE AT “DAE IT YERSEL” TO HELP THOSE LESS FORTUNATE AND ASK US ALL TO BE PART OF THIS NEW INITITIVE

                       

Looking for a way to give back during the holidays? Please consider being part of the Angel Tree program. This is a way that you can help those less fortunate than yourself.                An Angel Tree looks a lot like other Christmas trees, but instead of traditional ornaments, it is decorated with Angels. The Angels have the age, sex and code number of a child from the sponsored families.                                                                                                                       The tree is located at Dae It Yersel, 43 Tom-A-Mhoid Rd, Dunoon. You can take one Angel or as many as you want. This is a great way of teaching your children the importance of giving back. The whole family can be involved…. starting with picking the Angel and choosing the gifts! The Angel ornaments are yours to keep.

How much does it cost?
That’s up to you…there’s no set amount! The amount depends on the items you buy or how many gifts you purchase for your Angel. No matter how many gifts you donate, just know that you’ll help to ensure that at least one child doesn’t go without on Christmas morning.

What kinds of gifts should you buy?
Each Angel tag has the child’s age and sex. You can buy toys, books, clothing items or anything else you want to purchase.

How will my gifts get to the child I adopt?
You should return your gift/gifts to Dae It Yerself by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18th. Your gifts should not be wrapped. You can deliver them in a box or bag with the child’s code number (so we can make sure the gifts get delivered to the correct child). We will wrap the gifts and deliver them to the families by Saturday, December 21st.

What can I do if I want to help, but don’t have time to adopt an Angel?
There will be box for cash and/or food donations. This will be used to provide food hampers for the families. We would not be looking for the normal food donations (cans etc.), instead we are looking for some luxury items for the families. For example, selection boxes, chocolates, cans of nuts etc. The money will be used to purchase items for Christmas dinner!

IMPORTANT DATES:

December 18th – unwrapped gifts should be returned to Dae it Yersel by 5:00 p.m.
December 21st – gifts will be distributed to the nominated families.
