NEW SONG LAUNCHED FOR ST ANDREW’S DAY

AUSTRIAN SINGER FERDINAND RENNIE WHO MADE HIS HOME IN DUNOON OVER A DECADE AGO AND SCOTTISH COMMUNITY RADIO MANAGER VICTOR THOMAS HAVE COLLABORATED IN WRITING AND RELEASING A SONG “OUR LAND”A SONG ABOUT THEIR SHARED LOVE OF SCOTLAND TO CELEBRATE ST ANDREWS DAY

The powerful anthem performed by international star Ferdinand Rennie is a rousing celebration of all things Caledonian.

Ferdinand said: “I have lived all over the world but Scotland has always felt like my real home, it’s such a special place and the people and the scenery are incredible. 

“Whenever I’m travelling I always yearn for Scotland and I was talking about this with Victor and he suggested that we work on a song together that would capture that longing and pride.

“This song is really a tribute to all that we love about this country. The thought of the UK leaving Europe is heart-breaking for someone from Austria like me who has been given such a warm welcome here and that is why we have sent the song to the First Minister. I really hope she likes it.”

The song which has an uplifting chorus – Ours is the Land of Legends, Ours is the Land of Dreams, Our Land will Always Remember, To Our Land We will Always Return –

   

It’s the latest hit from Ferdinand, who has been short-listed for Austria’s Eurovision song entry, and has performed around the world. 

He has just released a Christmas album featuring a collection of eleven Christmas favourites including Silent Night, Holy Night, Hallelujah, and White Christmas, however, Ferdinand has introduced a new arrangement to a number of the songs.

The singer/songwriter has performed with leading stars including Vicky Leandros, winner of Eurovision when it was held in Edinburgh in 1972.   Netflix is currently producing a new film, Eurovision, based on the event which was recently filmed in Glasgow and stars Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams.
