PETER PAN –DUNOON’S MOST AMBITIOUS THEATRICAL PRODUCTION EVER MAKES PROGRESS .
Written by Victor Thomas on 11/11/2019
With less than three weeks to go the LiveArgyll, Dunoon Players and Youthstuff calibration are on schedule in their preparation to present to Dunoon the most ambitious theatre production the town has seen
With seasoned actors from the Dunoon Players, young talented enthusiastic actors from Youth Stuff and the fabulous settings of the Queens Hall. With a fabulous music score and a cast of enthusiastic Volunteers Producer and Co-Director Don McNeill is well pleased with the progress. Don invited Dunoon Community Radio to call in to a rehearsal and check out the progress on behalf of the listeners .The fact that LiveArgyll a partner in this calibration has allowed rehearsals to take place in the main concert hall and on the stage (complete with partially built scenery) has been a godsend, usually Don explained, the stage scenery with all it back drops and props would usually not be built on the stage sometimes up to just hours before the actual performance. For this production all involved can see and rehearse as the actual stage setting is built around them. When Luke and Victor arrived at the Queens Hall to set up a mobile studio the Concert Hall was a hive of activity with separate groups of actors rehearsing their lines, practicing action scenes, having final adjustments to costumes whilst on the main stage painters, carpenters, electricians and lighting crew worked away as actors rehearsed whilst adjustments where being made to the musical score all determined to present Dunoon with the biggest Theatre Spectacular Ever.
You can hear Producer Don McNeill and other members of the team live here on DCR97.4FM in the run up to the Pantomime as they pop in with progress reports.
DCR97.4FM will broadcast special Panto Programmes over the Christmas Holiday.
