THE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN BOBO ABOUT TO LAUNCH ON DCR97.4FM

The Adventures of Captain Bobo series is about to launch on here on Dunoon Community Radio, written by R. D. Dikstra & Kay Hutchison with Illustrations by Matt Rowe they are inspired by the iconic PS Waverley, the world’s last seagoing passenger-carrying paddle steamer and the tales told by Kay’s father, Captain Robin ‘Hurricane Hutch’ Hutchison, who was one of the youngest captains to serve on Scotland’s famous Firth of Clyde, where he worked for over 40 years.

The Adventures of Captain Bobo are 10 minute 10 part weekly radio series of the children’s books The series has already commenced broadcasting on the national children’s radio station Fun Kids and besides being broadcast here on DCR97.4FM will also be heard on a number of community independent radio stations around the country and abroad including Cuillin FM, Two Lochs Radio, Lochbroom FM, Purbeck Coast FM (Swanage, Dorset), Isles FM 103 and Cape Breton Radio (Nova Scotia)

The Gaelic version will be narrated by Uist-born Gillebride Macmillan, Gaelic & Celtic Studies Lecturer at The University of Glasgow and a well-known musician, broadcaster and actor appearing in Outlander as the Gwyllyn the Bard.

The English language version will be narrated by Largs born actor John Sessions admired for his comedy improvisation in television shows such as Whose Line Is It Anyway ? and as a panelist on QI . As a character actor he has appeared in numerous television drama and films including Hollywood Blockbusters.
The Adventures of Captain Bobo will be featured initially in programmes presented by, Victor : Tuesday 10.20am Gaelic and 11.20 am English Frlly : Wednesday 8.00am English & Thursday 8.00am Gaelic Nikki Lyle : Thursday 12.00pm -2.00pm – Fiona MacNeil’s : Garage Radio Friday 6.00pm – 8.00pm
